Galva’s popular Ol’ Fashioned Christmas Celebration, originally slated for Nov. 29, was postponed due to a winter storm and is now set to take place Saturday, Dec. 6.

The daylong event will run from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in downtown Galva, and feature Christmas activities, local business open houses, and holiday entertainment. A lighted Christmas parade will step off at 5 p.m., leading into the traditional tree lighting ceremony at Veterans Park.

Children can visit with Santa Claus, decorate cookies and enjoy crafts, while families take part in gingerbread house displays, photo opportunities and festive contests. Local shops will extend hours with refreshments and holiday specials, and community groups will host toy drives and seasonal fundraisers.

The event is sponsored by the City of Galva, the Galva Chamber of Commerce and the Galva Arts Council. For updates, visit the City of Galva’s official website or the Galva Arts Council’s social media pages.
