

The Kewanee Elks #724 announced the selection of Zoey Vance and Braden Clark as the organization’s December “Teens of the Month.”
Zoey Vance is the daughter of Justin and Laura Vance. A senior at Annawan High School, Vance’s GPA is 4.8/5.0 scale, and her class rank is 5 of 15. She has four-year achievements in High Honor Roll, All-Conference Academic basketball, Spanish Club, Drama Club and Student Council. Her three-year achievements include National Honor Society, All Conference Academic for track, 5.0 Club, FFA and the Youth Advisory Council.
Her two-year achievements are co-captain for basketball and an award for most improved player for that sport. Her one-year achievement is acting as Class vice-president, class secretary and class treasurer. She also was the Student Council president for one year; FFA reporter, a member of the Health Careers Club, co-captain for the cross country team. She participated in school plays for one year; was the Appley Publishing finalist and the Weber & Winn Publishing semi-finalist. She was the Cross Country MV freshman, Student Council treasurer; on the yearbook staff; a member of the pom pom squad and participated in FCA for a year.
Her community service includes volunteering in Rake & Run, Anderson Enterprises Sale, collecting dog toys for the Humane Society, volunteering for the grandparents breakfast and the reading carnival and tutoring jr. high students.
Braden Clark is the son of Matt and Kari Clark. He is a senior at Kewanee High School. His Class Rank is 5 of 138 with a GPA of 3.946/4.0. He has four-year achievements in High Honor Roll, football, basketball, Key Club and Student Council. He has a three-year achievement in basketball All-Conference.
His two-year achievements include National Honor Society, All Conference Academic for football and basketball. He was the co-captain in football and basketball for two years and football All Conference. His one-year achievement is being named to the list of Champaign Gazette All State Basketball.
Clark volunteers for Visitation volleyball and basketball games and he acts as a Kewanee Life Skills volunteer coach, as well as a volunteer coach for youth basketball and football camps.
