On Friday, the Titans were successful in a conference doubleheader against the Spartans of Ridgewood.
They came out on top in both games— the scores being 5-4 and 5-2.
In game one, the Titans were able to hold on to victory as the Spartans almost erased the 4-run deficit. But, despite seeing their 4-run lead whittled down by the end, the Titans still held off for a 5-4 victory.
The Titans got on the board in the top of the second inning after Cole Goodley doubled down the right field line.
The Titans added one run in the third. Jaxson Dunn grounded into a fielder’s choice, making the score 3-0.
Maddux Heitzler, the starting pitcher for the Titans, gave up three hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking five, before the reliever, Pierce Childs, appeared.

As for the Spartans pitcher, Mavick Sunken, he went four innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out four and walking five.
Jaton Huber led the Titans with two runs batted in. Huber, Verstraete, Dunn, Goodley, Myer Heitzler, and Nic Thurston each collected one hit for the Titans. Thurston stole two bases. The Titans turned one double play in the game.
This game was looking like a blowout for the Titans, until the Spartans showed up towards the end, bringing in four runs to end the game with a close 5-4 victory for the Titans.
In game two, the Titans got on the board in the top of the fifth inning after Thurston singled, scoring two runs, Myer Heitzler doubled, scoring one run, Dunn singled, scoring one run, and Dane Ross drew a walk, scoring one run.
In this game, pitcher Myer Heitzler allowed three hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking four.
The Titans amassed nine hits in the game. Dunn and Myer Heitzler each collected two hits for the Titans while hitting back-to-back.
The Titans again came up the winners with a final score of 5-2.
On Wednesday, the Titans welcome the Princes of Princeville for their next matchup.
