On Thursday, the Titans softball team fell 16-9 to the ROWVA Cougars.
The Titans got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Emersynn Peart walked and the Titans scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
The Cougars captured the lead, 4-2, in the top of the fourth when Lylah Shaffer singled, scoring one run, Jaylen Elmore singled, scoring two runs, and Emerson Hannam grounded out, scoring one run.
The Titans scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Karsyn Rico tripled, scoring one run, Wavelynn Peart drew a walk, scoring one run, Emersynn Peart singled, scoring two runs, and Elizabeth Dooley hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
The Cougars scored six runs on five hits in the top of the seventh inning. An error scored two runs, Emerson Hannam singled, scoring one run, and Riley Smith homered to left field, scoring three runs.
The Titans pitcher, Lauren Davis, went five innings, giving up eight runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out five and walking two.
The Titans will welcome Knoxville on Thursday.
