TABLE GROVE — It took the Titans’ office a while to get going, but a strong second half led to a 28-0 Annawan-Wethersfield win over South Fulton in the season opener Friday night.

While penalties and mistakes impaired the offense in the first half, the running of tailback Zeb Rashid and quarterback Dillon Horrie led the Titans to a conference win.

Meanwhile, the Annawan-Wethersfield defense wasn’t having any problems. The South Fulton offense never crossed midfield in the game.

Rashid scored an apparent touchdown late in the first quarter on a 21-yard run, but the run was negated by a penalty.

No problem; Rashid simply ran it in again on the next play, and this time there were no flags.

The 6-0 Titans lead held up into the second half. On their first possession of the third quarter, Annawan-Wethersfield started at their 35 and put together a 13-play drive that culminated with a nine-yard touchdown run by Rashid. The PAT made it 14-0.

The Titans scored again in the fourth quarter on a short run by Tommy Covington to make it 22-0. Rashid scored again on a short run in the fourth quarter to make the final score 28-0.
