The Annawan-Wethersfield Titans stormed out of the gate Friday night, putting up all 42 of their points in the first half and never looking back in a dominant 42-6 win over ROWVA.

The Titans, ranked seventh in IHSA’s Class 1A in the latest MaxPreps poll, took the wind out of the Cougars’ sails early, spoiling their Senior Night with a relentless and balanced offensive attack.

Proving they’re more than just a ground-and-pound team, the Titans racked up 254 rushing yards and 244 through the air — showing just how dangerous this offense can be when firing on all cylinders.

Maddux Heitzler was the Titans’ leading rusher with 79 yards on nine carries. Devon Horrie added 69 on eight carries.

Heitzler completed nine of 15 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown. Nic Thurston caught four of those passes for a total of 137 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown catch. Cole Geodley also had four catches.

With the win, the Titans move to 8-0 and now set their sights on South Fulton as the playoffs loom large.
