The organizers of the Kewanee Cinco De Mayo Festival are planning a Taco Fundraiser to raise money for “a memorable and culturally rich event that celebrates Mexican heritage.”
The tacos can be found on Saturday, April 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Daily Fix parking lot located at 731 S. Tremont St. Beef, chicken, pork or steak tacos from the Azteca Food Truck will be sold at a cost of three tacos for $12. Pre-orders are available by phoning 773-542-8389.
A percentage of the sales will be donated to the Kewanee Cinco De Mayo Festival, set to take place on Saturday, May 3 at Northeast Park.
Organizers say the goal of the event is to foster community engagement, celebrate Mexican culture, and commemorate the Battle of Puebla.
Interested in helping? The festival’s next planning committee meeting is open to the public and will be held on Sunday, April 13 at Kewanee City Hall from 6-7 p.m.
