GALVA — The Galva Arts Council welcomes The Sweet Lillies and Sophie Coyote to the area this Sunday, June 15 as part of the 2025 Levitt AMP Galva Music Series.
Every Sunday through Aug. 3, this family-friendly concert series will bring free live music to Wiley Park in Galva. All concerts begin at 6 p.m., end around 8:30 and feature two acts per night.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for comfortable lawn seating. A variety of food and non-food vendors will be on-site, and guests are also welcome to bring in outside food.
The Sweet Lillies‘ music is, first and foremost, heartfelt and collaborative. Those defining traits are given life by the group of musicians who have combined their individual strengths to deliver powerful narratives of life in song. With their acoustic string-band lineup of guitar, viola, and upright bass given flight by ethereal, vocal harmonies that float like a dream, The Sweet Lillies’ music has an old-time soul with a forward-looking eye.
Sophie Coyote is a singer/songwriter from the small Midwestern town of Waddams Grove, Ill. Born in an old farmhouse surrounded by rolling fields. she was raised on a broad range of musical influences that include classic rock and roll, honky-tonk country and a bit of blues.
This open mind of influence has led to a songwriting style that is reminiscent of the raw and honest age of music; lyrically driven with interesting stories, unique twists and word-play.
The Levitt AMP Galva Music Series is supported by many community sponsors, donors, and volunteers, and the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, a private foundation that empowers towns and cities across America to transform underused public spaces into thriving destinations through the power of free, live music.
