On Sunday, Oct. 1, at 10:15 am, St. Peter’s Evangelical United Church of Christ will celebrate the establishment of a student scholarship at Eden Theological Seminary with the presence and message from the Seminary’s president, the Rev. Dr. Deborah Krause.

Dr. Krause is president and professor of New Testament at Eden Theological Seminary. Her teaching and scholarship is focused on methods of biblical interpretation and their roots in critical theory, theology and political movements. She teaches courses in the Gospels, early Jewish exegesis and the Pauline and pastoral epistles.

Dr. Krause served as academic dean from 2005-2018 and began as Eden Seminary’s president in 2020.

St. Peter’s Church established the Edward Busekros Scholarship at Eden Seminary in recognition of the beloved relationship and the ministry of Rev. Busekros with the St. Peter’s congregation. The scholarship continues to grow and has assisted Eden students for many years.

A fellowship meal will follow the service hosted by the church Council. In the afternoon St. Peter’s will host the Annual CROP Hunger Walk of the Kewanee Church Fellowship.
