A group of organizers is putting out a call for talent to participate in the 2024 Christmas Extravaganza that will be held at the First Congregational Church on Dec. 8 at 2 p.m.
The group is headed up by Bryan Blanks, a graduate of Wethersfield High School. He currently lives in Peoria, where he directs, performs and teaches acting and drama.
Blanks intends to bring some Peoria talent to Kewanee for what’s billed as an afternoon of “music, dance and storytelling to honor the late Brock Tumbleson.” But he is on the lookout for local talent as well.
The extravaganza will be held in memory of Brock Tumbleson, who passed away this year. Tumbleson was an active participant and volunteer in local events, especially around Christmastime. He was a co-founder of the Northeast Park Lighting and active with the Kewanee Kiwanis Club and the Salvation Army.
Anyone wishing to perform and add their talent to the day is invited to contact Blanks at bblanks3@yahoo.com.
The proceeds from the evening will benefit the Salvation Army.
