Ruben Moreno, Swampland Jewels bring Louisiana‑inspired rhythms to Levitt AMP lineup

The Levitt AMP Concert Series will present zydeco performers Ruben Moreno and the Zydeco Re-evolution, and the Swampland Jewels this Sunday, June 28.

Ruben Moreno is a zydeco accordionist and bandleader known for blending traditional Louisiana sounds with blues, soul and modern influences. A lifelong musician, he has performed with established zydeco artists and continues to develop a style that connects classic roots with contemporary audiences.

Onstage, Moreno and his band deliver an energetic, dance-friendly set built around accordion and rhythm.

The Swampland Jewels

The Swampland Jewels perform a mix of Gulf Coast roots music, incorporating Cajun, Creole, Tex-Mex and Americana influences. The group, made up of Midwest musicians, focuses on creating an upbeat, welcoming atmosphere drawn from a variety of musical traditions.

In concert, the Swampland Jewels emphasize movement and audience connection, offering a mix of traditional songs and original material.

Summer Sunday evenings through Aug. 9, this family-friendly concert series brings free live music to Wiley Park. All concerts begin at 6 p.m. and end around 8:30 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. A variety of food and non-food vendors will be on-site, and outside food is also allowed.
