A fast-paced raffle that offers participants a chance to win fun and fabulous prizes will also benefit the Prairie Chicken Arts Festival and the community projects of the Rotary Club of Kewanee.
The two organizations recently announced the return of their annual fundraiser, Quarter Madness. This year’s prizes total over $10,000 and include a “haul of purses,” power tools, gift baskets, gift cards and more. Highlights of just some of the donations include a family golf pass including a cart lease from Martin Engineering; two gift baskets from Good’s Furniture with $100 Good’s Furniture gift cards; Cerno’s, CoCo’s and Doghouse on the Beach gift certificates; purses from Michael Kors, Coach and Kate Spade and lottery tickets.
The event is set for Friday, March 8 at the Elks Lodge in Kewanee. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. with the action beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The easiest way to enter the raffle is for participants to purchase a platinum paddle for $40. Those paddles are entered to win every prize throughout the event and participants don’t need to be present to win.
Those wishing to be at Quarter Madness in person can purchase a gold paddle for $30, but that requires participants to be at the event to watch for their numbers. When your number is called, participants must hoot and holler to receive their prize.
Unlimited platinum or gold paddles can be purchased, but white paddles, at a cost of $5 each, are also available once the doors open the day of the event, and the white paddles are where the quarter part comes in.
In order for a white paddle to be in the raffle, participants must bid the amount of quarters for the item’s value. Items up to $25 are one quarter, $26-50 are two quarters, $51-75 are three quarters and $76 and up are four quarters. Each person can only purchase two white paddles and each paddle must have a bid on the item for it to be “in” on the raffle drawing.
The organizations hope to raise $25,000 from the fundraiser and paddles are available now online at Eventbrite; in person at Sutton and Associates Real Estate or Erin Spivey’s Country Financial Office. White paddles can be purchased at the Elks Lodge once the doors open.
