Rotary Club and Kewanee Park District announce annual community day at the pool

The Rotary Club of Kewanee and Kewanee Park District announced the second annual “Rotary Community Day at the Pool.” The event is set July 29 from noon to 6 pm at the Oasis Family Aquatic Center in Kewanee. Admission to the pool will be free for the day and paid for by the Rotary Club of Kewanee.

“We are excited to offer a Community Day at the Pool for its second year in a row. It’s a great opportunity for families to have a fun day at the pool together,” said Rotary Committe Chair Jon Looney.

Rotary Club President John Bowser added “The Rotary Club of Kewanee appreciates the support our community and the partnership with the Kewanee Park District to make this event happen.”

The Oasis at Northeast Park has a maximum capacity of 300 people, which the Oasis staff will manage throughout the day, a joint press release stated.

Park District Executive Director, Andrew Dwyer, said he is excited about the event. “The Park District is proud to partner again with Kewanee Rotary to create a great start to a fun day we have planned for our community,” he said.

The Rotary Club of Kewanee was founded in 1917 by Kewanee business leaders. Each year the club invests more than $50,000 in our community supporting organizations and projects in our community. The club meets every Tuesday in the lower level of the First United
Methodist Church in Kewanee.
