
The Riveters were on the road at Putnam County Wednesday for their 17th straight game and came out victorious against the host Panthers 50-38.
The Riveters were 9-8 on the road trip and move to 11-9 on the season.
The Riveters were led by Carter Ensley with 12 points off the bench, who caught fire with four made three-pointers in quality minutes, Coach Matt Costenson said.
Adding to the win were Adiel Arjun with 10 points, Dayvon Robinson with 10 and Jeseus Martinez with 7.
“It was a good solid team effort from the sophomore squad that saw several players get minutes in the win,” Costenson said.
“The long road trip is over and the Riveters are finally home in Brockman Gymnasium on Friday night to take on conference foe Erie-Prophetstown at 5:30 p.m.,” the coach said.
“We are looking forward to showing our growth in front of our home fans,” he said. “No better place to play than Brockman Gym.”
Central seventh-graders
Seventh graders entering tourneyCentral Junior High’s seventh-grade team finished its regular season with a 19-5 overall record.
The team finished 9-3 in its conference.
They finished the regular season this week with two wins.
The team won 27-22 over Orion and 28-21 over Monmouth-Roseville.
Central is the number three seed in the regional and plays Saturday at 1 p.m. vs. Washington at Washington Middle School.
