Church officials are inviting the public to come join them for an evening of food, fun and fellowship at a church picnic celebrating 150 years.
The Church of Peace Church Picnic is set for Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Church of Peace, located at 28358 N. 900 Ave. in Kewanee.
The free family-friendly event will begin with food service from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Guests can enjoy games for all ages, a bounce house for children, free pony rides from 6 to 7 p.m. courtesy of Tri-Co Equestrian and tours of the church facilities. A formal group picture, for those interested, will be taken at 7 p.m., followed by a welcome program and an old-fashioned sing-along.
The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display beginning at 8:45 p.m.
As part of the Church of Peace’s 150th anniversary celebration, the event organizers said the church picnic will be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends, make new memories and celebrate a century and a half of faith, fellowship and community service.
Bring your family, bring your friends, bring some lawn chairs and come enjoy an evening of free fun for everyone.
