Resident thanks volunteers for weekend events

By The Kewanee Voice    December 11, 2024

To the Editor:

What a wonderful job all the volunteers did to spread joy and cheer this past weekend! Countless hours of practicing for the those involved in the community choir. Months of preparation for those that prepared our beautiful parks with lights in time for the holidays. In a world where we are constantly bombarded with bad news and discontent, it’s nice to see our small town come together for the benefit of others.

We took my elderly parents to the displays and they were astounded at how many there were and that it was all done by volunteers! So thank you to those that tested lights, put up displays, baked cookies (heard we got many donations!), organized the parade, and practiced singing. Your work is very appreciated! Let’s continue to keep that spirit alive in the new year, despite our differences in opinion. Let’s show the nation how to do it!

Gratefully submitted,
