Rediscovering the Word of God

By The Kewanee Voice    March 21, 2026

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Psalm 119:105

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Hebrews 4:12-13

There is a whole lot of bad news in the world today.

How about reading some Good News?

Many of us spend time every day on Facebook or other social media platforms.

When was the last time we faced God’s book?

The Bible is the only book that the Author comes and meets us in the pages.

We can read it again and again and again and find something new every time.

We can read the Bible for information. More than that, we can read and meditate on God’s Word for transformation of our hearts and lives. The Word can help to renew our minds. It provides instruction in how to live and how to love God and our neighbor.

The Bible provides us with the story of God’s love and grace and gives us guidance for our daily living.

Bible study can be well worth your time and effort even if you do not claim to be a believer in Jesus Christ. The Bible is a book full of books with a wide variety of genres. It is like finding a bookstore full of literature all in one bound volume. Within the Bible, you can find poetry, songs, business standards, tips for daily living, stories of romance, murder, betrayal, and what seems like science-fiction. The Bible contains some of the most known stories in the literary world.

The Bible is considered the best-selling and most widely distributed book of all time. It is the most translated book. Have you taken the time to read it?

Give it a try. It might change your life.
