Reader believes Ms. Tate should be allowed to keep her home

Dear Editor,

I read with interest the article regarding Ms. Bodanna Tate and her fight to keep her home at South Winds Trailer Park.

Ms. Tate maintains a lovely, clean home, inside and out. She is paying her bills. She is obviously a responsible citizen and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

I believe she should definitely be allowed to pursue a mortgage and purchase the real estate property on which her home currently sits. If it happens that the City of Kewanee ends up obtaining the property from the current negligent owners through their default on monies owed the City, I would hope that the City would allow this to happen. The same should happen for all residents who have been paying their rents and maintaining their homes and wish to purchase their lots.

I wish Ms. Tate and the others well. What a shame that the situation has come to this. What a shame it has caused such turmoil in their lives.

Once again, I would like to thank The Kewanee Voice for its continued fine reporting, writing and community engagement.

Sincerely,

Cindy Czolgosz
