Mischief is an outgoing 5‑month‑old tabby kitten who has quickly become one of the shelter’s most lively residents.

She was brought to the pound by police in late July after being found in the 600 block of West Division Street in Kewanee. It appeared she may have been rolled by a car, but fortunately she suffered no serious injuries. She did have a bloody lower lip and mouth, and after her required seven‑day stay at the pound, she was transferred to the shelter for medical care and some much‑needed rest.

Since arriving, Mischief has gained weight quickly and recently reached the appropriate size to be spayed and microchipped. She now weighs a healthy 5.5 pounds and has become a bundle of energy and curiosity.

Her feelings about other cats and dogs are still uncertain. With her inquisitive nature, she has been busy investigating her roommates, but she hasn’t quite worked up the bravery to interact with them. She is extremely outgoing with people, though, and loves belly rubs and scratches from visitors and staff.

This energetic sweetheart is always on the move, making it difficult to capture a good photo. She has beautiful markings, and her lip has healed completely, so mealtime and treats are among her favorite parts of the day.

Mischief is fully vetted, including being recently spayed, microchipped, flea‑treated and dewormed. She has also received her rabies vaccination and her full series of FVRCP shots.

If you’re looking for a mischievous partner who will inspect every inch of your home and alert you to anything amiss, little Miss Curiosity is your girl.

To meet Mischief, call the shelter at 309‑852‑0040 or stop in during visiting hours. Her adoption fee is $60.
