
As summer winds down, activities and events are ramping up throughout the area giving folks looking for something to do plenty of great options.
For those that didn’t get enough festival shenanigans last weekend during Hog Dogs then head over to Princeton for its largest annual three-day festival. This year marks the 54th Homestead Festival, complete with carnival, BBQ, 5 K run, parade and so much more.
This Friday the Kewanee Boilermakers will host Riverdale in their first home football game of the 2025 season at 7 p.m. The Galva Wildcats will also be playing at home against Rockford Christian at 6 p.m. and the Titans are just a hop, skip and a jump away at Bureau Valley starting at 7 p.m.
If you are looking for something to do with the kids check out the Monarch Migration Festival held at the Lakeside Nature Center in Galesburg on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This is a free event where you can enjoy a variety of activities, vendors, crafts and learn about the amazing monarch butterfly migration.
