Friday evening offers two community gatherings to start off the weekend. The First Christian Church at 105 Dwight Street will host a Thanks Giving Dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m., open to everyone, with transportation available by calling 309-883-2848. Meanwhile, the KHS Student Center will be buzzing with the Boiler Chili Supper Fundraiser starting at 5:30 p.m. A donation of $10 covers a meal of chili, side, dessert and a drink.
This Saturday sees the return of two popular holiday traditions, as both the First Presbyterian Church and Visitation School open their doors for holiday bazaars. At the First Presbyterian Church Holiday Bazaar, visitors can browse baked goods, handmade crafts, and seasonal treats while enjoying a rib-eye sandwich lunch for $15.
Meanwhile, Visitation School will host its 37th annual Country Village Christmas Bazaar, offering breakfast and lunch for purchase, along with a wide selection of crafts, baked goods and their ever-popular raffle prizes. Together, these events create the perfect opportunity to shop for unique holiday gifts, savor delicious food and support local community traditions all in one weekend.
