Out & About this weekend, Jan. 30 – Feb. 1

Column

This weekend there are few options to get you out of the house and back amongst the living.

Those unhappy with the shooting of Alex Pretti can take to the streets and take part in a peaceful demonstration to be held at 105 W. 2nd St. in Kewanee at 2 p.m. on Friday. The name of the demonstration is “The Start of a New Beginning.” From the organizer’s lips to God’s ears!

On Saturday once again school sports and music seem to be your best bet. Crossroads Cultural Connection will present Dickie at Bishop Hill Creative Commons at 7 p.m. and the Spectrum Pub in Cambridge will showcase John Born at 9 p.m.

On Sunday head over to Galva and enjoy a hot bowl of soup at the Galva Freedom Fest Soup and Chili Supper from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Galva American Legion. A great way to enjoy a good meal while supporting a worthy cause.
