This weekend offers up a couple of great options for getting out of the house.
Friday evening, the Kewanee Area United Way will be holding “My Spooky Valentine Trivia” at 6 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Kewanee. For those looking for music, head to Bishop Hill and enjoy the Celtic band Blame Not the Bard at Bishop Hill Creative Commons. There will be a community potluck and social hour from 6-7 p.m. with the concert starting at 7 p.m.
School sports still dominated the calendar on Saturday, but Princeton will be holding a Model Train and Farm Toy show at the Bureau County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sunday afternoon take part in the Community Black History Extravaganza at the First Congregational Church in Kewanee at 2 p.m. Afterwards head to the Kewanee Elks Club where the Kewanee Woman’s Club will host a Soup and Chili Supper benefiting Fred Francis’s Woodland Palace. Have a delicious meal and support a worthwhile cause at the same time.
