Many will enjoy an extra long weekend free from work over the next couple days. Those looking for great music, food and fun head over to Cambridge on Sunday for Spectrum Fest. For a $25 fee you can enjoy five bands in concert starting at 11 a.m. and performing throughout the day and into the night. There will also be bag and sand volleyball tournaments. In College Square Park right across the street there will be attractions and features aimed at entertaining the children.

This weekend is unofficially known as the start of summer. Throughout the U.S. citizens will enjoy barbecues and picnics with family and friends celebrating the season of warmth’s return. But the weekend is about much more than cooking over a grill with a cold drink in hand.
The last Monday of May is a federal holiday held to honor U.S. military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country in the name of democracy and freedom. Those fallen heroes were made up from the vast and varied races that populate our country and world. So this weekend while you’re enjoying the extra time off from work maybe take some time and reflect on that and what this country has become.
