Midwest Partners to host open mic in Princeton

By The Kewanee Voice    February 25, 2026

For one night only, The Bike Place is… The Mic Place!

On Friday, Feb. 27, Midwest Partners will host an open mic at The Bike Place on 701 N. Main St. in Princeton, Ill. Doors open at 6 p.m., and performances begin at 6:30 p.m. Drinks and refreshments will be provided.

Backup musicians, drums and a piano will be available for performers, provided by Princeton’s musical instrument shop, The Note. Five-minute and 10-minute slots are available. All ages and skill levels are invited to join.

“We are so grateful to The Note and the local musicians and creatives who are helping make this possible,” stated Kayla Greenwell, the Midwest Partners’ program coordinator. “They’ve even offered to play background music for those who aren’t ready to play on stage yet.”

This event is part of the Signal Boost! Celebrating Public Radio program raising funds for local public radio, and attendees are encouraged to make a $5 donation to support our local WNIJ Northern Public Radio station.
