Meeting set on CO2 pipeline

By The Kewanee Voice    July 13, 2023

To the editor,

For anyone interested in the concern about a CO2 pipeline coming through Illinois including Henry, Stark, Knox and Peoria counties, please try to attend the meeting at the Toulon Public Library, 617 E Jefferson St., on July 19 at 6 p.m. This public meeting is sponsored by the Coalition to Stop CO2 Pipelines.

We need our county boards included, we need concerned citizens included. Bring your questions.

Wolf Carbon Solutions filed an application on June 16 (hearing is Monday, July 17 with the ICC), to construct and operate a hazardous, high-pressure carbon dioxide pipeline across approximately 166 miles of Illinois including Henry, Stark, Peoria and Knox counties. It starts in Cedar Rapids Iowa and end in Decatur Ill.

If you want a map on the exact route of the proposed pipeline contact Tracey McDaneld of the Wolf Land Staff to request one. Her email is tracey.mcdaneld@wolfcarbonsolutions.com. Her telephone number is 618-267-2349

If you want Wolf’s project information they have a telephone number you can call – 800-501-5597

Please share this post to make more citizens aware.
