Lena-Winslow hands Titans their first loss

On Saturday afternoon, the Annawan-Wethersfield Titans faced the Lena-Winslow Panthers in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.

This game gathered many fans from both teams, with bleachers being filled with excitement and joy from both sides, which elevated and lightened the atmosphere for this face-off.

After a strong season, going 11-0 for their season record previously to this game, Lena-Winslow put a halt to the Titans’ undefeated record and conquered the win with a score of 46-20. 

In the first quarter, the Panthers put the first points on the board midway through, showing off excellent chemistry through their plays, combined with a great offense.

Briefly into the second quarter, they scored again, making the current score of the game 16-0, dominating the Titans’ defense. 

Not long after, the Titans make their first appearance on the board, achieving their first touchdown. 

Yet the Panthers weren’t done in this half of the game, putting down another touchdown, finalizing the score to be 23-6 before halftime.

In the second half, Lena-Winslow put down three consecutive touchdowns, paired with two more from the Titans, to make the final score of the game 20-42, ending the 2025 season for the AW Titans. 

Lena-Winslow will move on to play Stockton in the semifinals on Saturday, at 3 p.m.
