On Tuesday, Wethersfield’s Lady Geese welcomed the United Red Storm to their home court for a thrilling game.
This matchup was the last home game for the WHS seniors: Camryn Anderson, Megan Oliver, Emelia Escareno and Maci Hauser; and their manager, Ava Landwehr. The girls played with extra fire and drive for their final home appearance.
Before the game, a shoutout was given for their contributions to the team’s success.
The game kicked off with a Red Storm possession, and they managed to score. Soon after, the Geese were able to retrieve the ball and sink a three-pointer to get them on the scoreboard. After that shot, the Geese would grasp the lead and hang onto it for the remainder of the game.
The first period ended with a score of 12-6.
The second period proved just as electrifying. The Geese were sure with their shots, scoring 13 points, and only allowing the Red Storm to score 9. Going into the halftime, the Geese held on, with a score of 25-15.

The second half elicited cheers from crowd as the Geese continued their climb on the scoreboard.
The third period ended with a score of 39-16.
The fourth period went just as well for the Geese, as they scored an additional 12 points, allowing their opponents only 10. With the final score of 51-26, the Lady Geese put up another solid win.
The leading scorers were freshman Kyleigh Anderson and junior Lana Scott both scoring 12, and seniors Megan Oliver and Emelia Escareno both contributing 7.
