On Tuesday night, the Geese lost a very hard-fought match against the Mercer County Golden Eagles.

This was the first home game of the season, and the Geese were hoping to impress their fans with a good match. They tried their best but just fell short.

The Eagles started the first set with the serve, quickly losing it by serving out of bounds. For the beginning stretch of the game, the serves went back and forth between both teams. Neither team could gain a quick lead. .

The Geese were good on defense, picking up any balls Mercer threw at them. The Eagles responded by tipping a lot of balls that the Geese were just not quick enough to get.

The Eagles pulled 13-16. Both teams continued to fight, going back and forth.

The Geese tried to pull ahead, but the Eagles won the set 22-25.

If the Geese wanted to win this game, they needed to start the second set off strong, and they did just that.

Sophomore Kyleigh Anderson started strong by gaining six points for the Geese just from serves.

The Eagles called a timeout with the score 6-1 Geese. The Eagles needed to come back stronger, and they did, making the score 7-8.

For the middle of the set, both teams fought back and forth for a while. Both teams showed determination and hard work.

The Eagles ended up winning the second game 19-25.

The Geese will be back at home on Tuesday to play against Alleman, with freshman starting at 5 and JV and varsity to follow. The Geese also have the WHS invite on Saturday, starting at 8:30 a.m.
