On Thursday night, the Geese lost a tough match to the Riverdale Rams.
The first set started well for both teams; the Geese held a short lead due to great hits.
The Rams held strong rallies with the Geese, causing the Geese to make mistakes. The Rams started to pull ahead. The Geese needed to respond quickly.
The Geese called their first timeout with the score being 9-13 Riverdale. The Geese were hoping to get their heads together to come back stronger.
Going back to the court, the Rams started to pull ahead. The Geese then called their second timeout, the score being 11-16 Rams.
After this, the Geese started to shorten up the lead. The Rams were already on a roll, closing out the first set 20-25 Rams.
The Rams started stronger in the second set, holding a small lead over the Geese. The Geese quickly closed that gap due to great hits on offense.
The score stayed close throughout the whole set. Each team wouldn’t allow the other to pull ahead. The Geese had great efforts, showcasing skills that helped them keep long rallies with the Rams.
In the end, the Rams beat the Geese 22-25. The Geese season record is now 22-3.
On Monday, the Geese will travel to Bureau Valley, where all three levels will be playing. Freshman start at 5 p.m., junior varsity at 6 p.m., and varsity at 7 p.m.
