On May 15, K9 Rosco completed his last patrol shift with the Kewanee Police Department and his handler, Sgt. Eric Peed, after seven years of honorable service.

Rosco began his career on Jan. 7, 2016, and was integral to community policing, narcotics enforcement, and patrol operations for the Kewanee Police Department.

On Rosco’s last shift, patrol officers and telecommunicators celebrated his retirement by treating him to a hamburger and a “pup cup.” Sgt. Peed was also presented with a plaque and a handmade collar for Rosco. The collar was crafted and donated by Austin Majeske.

The Kewanee Police Department would like to thank Rosco and Sergeant Peed for their dedicated service to the City of Kewanee and wishes Rosco a happy retirement.
