KPD golf charity event planned to benefit Patchy’s Toy Drive

By The Kewanee Voice    June 25, 2025

The Kewanee Police Department FOP Lodge 233 will hold a charity golf tournament to support Patchy’s Red, White & Blue Christmas Toy Drive.

The tournament is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28 at the Midland Country Club. The cost for the tournament is $80 per person or $320 for a team of four.

In addition to the tournament play, the event will feature raffles, a 50/50 drawing, pin prizes and dinner.

Proceeds will benefit Patchy’s Toy Drive, a Kewanee tradition started in 2009 by the Patch family after the loss of Sgt. Schuyler Patch, who was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan earlier that year.

Organized by Amber Patch-Troxell, the toy drive honors Schuyler’s love for children and his dreams of having his own kids one day- a dream he was never able to fulfill. The drive is held each year to show support and thanks to a community that honors Schuyler. The toys are given to area children in need.

To register for the tournament, contact Eric Peed at 309-853-1911 or email epeed@cityofkewanee.net.
