On Tuesday, the KHS varsity volleyball team won in two sets against Monmouth-Roseville High School, 25-20 and 25-22.
Junior Kendyl DeBlieck and sophomore Macee Pickering’s offenses were strong, with both Boilers getting eight assists.
Junior Taylor Vanwinkle scored three aces and nine service points, and junior Claire Taylor made one ace and eight service points. Along with senior Aaliyah Duarte’s five kills and Macy Anderson’s four kills, the Boilers gave a powerful showing against the visiting Titans.
In terms of defense, Pickering had an impressive eight digs, sophomore Bailey VanWinkle wasn’t far behind with six digs, and Duarte gave the Boilers two successful blocks.

Kewanee freshmen also won in two sets, 25-16 and 25-20.
Boiler volleyball will return to Brockman Gym on Thursday, when KHS hosts the Rockridge Rockets. Seniors Duarte and Tejhiana Amos will be honored.
