The Boiler Girls hosted the Princeton Tigresses on Thursday, Jan. 23, and won the evening with a striking score of 57-39.
Kewanee got off to a fast start, going 3 for 3 from behind the arc. The Boiler Girls had four blocks and six steals in the first quarter and took a 19-9 lead into the second quarter.
Princeton’s Keighly Davis reached the impressive 1,000 career points mark late in the second quarter, but her efforts were no match for the Boilers as they extended their 10-point lead and never looked back in the second half.
The hosts only allowed the Tiger two rebounds after halftime.
Kewanee is now 6-1 in conference play.

The JV team won 35 to 26, led by sophomore Audrey Clucas’s 14 points. Kewanee won the rebounding battle 34-12 and is now 7-1 in conference play.
The Boiler Girls will head to Hall High School on Thursday, Jan. 30, then return to KHS for an action-packed weekend against the Farmington Farmers.

Farmington High School is sending its boys and girls basketball teams to Orange and Black Country this Saturday.
At 1 p.m., the varsity girls teams will face off in Brockman while the JV boys teams play in Good’s Gym.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., the varsity boys teams will hold court in Brockman, and the JV girls teams will battle it out in Good’s Gym.
