Kewanee High School’s soccer team scored a shutout victory Saturday in a conference quarterfinal game at Mendota.
“Kewanee took possession of the ball since the beginning, dominating the game,” Coach Jesus Bermudez said. “The mid field of the Boilermakers took control of the game with 19 shots in the first half but without scoring.”
The coach said there was “a little chat at halftime between coaches and team.
“There was a plan, and once again Kewanee took control of the game,” he said.
Kewanee’s Isidro Martinez scored with a power shot from outside the box; then on a corner kick, Jackson Price scored. Kewanee’s last goal was scored by Jesus del Toro to make the final score 3-0.
