Kewanee High School’s freshman basketball team faced off against Erie-Prophetstown for fourth time of the year, winning by the best margin, 48-15.
“In the first quarter, the score of the game was only 6-4 us,” Coach TrentonTerry said. “I felt like the team was going through the motions to start out and were not exactly ready to play.”
The second quarter was a different story, as Kewanee scored 19 points.
“The second half we kept it rolling, except even more defensively where we only allowed two points the entire half,” the coach said.
Leading scorers for the game were Dane Vandevelde with 13, Stanley Jones with 9 and Malaki Rodriguez with 9.
The team moved to 17-6 on the year and will face off against Hall Friday night.
