The Kewanee freshman girls basketball team hosted Rock Island Alleman Wednesday night and defeated the Pioneers, 26-21, to go 1-0 on the season.
Nolie Charlet led the Boiler Girls with 21 points. Adding two points each were Isabella Vargas, Tiffany Helton and Kolbie Cernovich.
