KHS finishes first in boys, girls races

Kewanee cross country runners, Natalie Martin and Chase Palm, won their respective 3-mile races at Tuesday’s triangular meet in Princeton. 

Martin, a senior, finished the girl’s race in a time of 22:15. KHS junior, Chad Palm, won the boy’s race at Zearing Park in 19:51. 

Providing the one-two punch for the Boiler boys was sophomore harrier, Jason Rusk, who came in second in a time of 19:54. 

KHS sophomore, Hunter Vancil, was fifth at 21:07 and junior, Mitchel Thorp, rounded out the Kewanee field with a time of 22:42.

KHS junior Alejandra Martinez was eighth in the girl’s race at 28:06.

Princeton won the girl’s meet with 26 points and Minonk (Fieldcrest) was second with 31 points. They also won the boy’s meet with 24 points and Minonk (Fieldcrest) was second with 31 points.
