On Thursday, the KHS varsity volleyball team won in two sets against Newman Central Catholic High School, 25-22 and 25-17.
Junior Kendyl DeBlieck’s and sophomore Macee Pickering’s offense was strong, with both Boilers getting eight assists. Additionally, DeBlieck scored nine service points, and Pickering had one ace and seven service points.
Along with sophomore Macy Anderson’s six kills and senior Aaliyah Duarte’s five kills, these points pushed Kewanee to victory over the Comets.
In terms of defense, junior Taylor VanWinkle had an amazing seven digs, and Duarte made three blocks.

Kewanee’s sophomore team won in two sets, 25-14 and 25-11.
Kewanee’s freshman team also won in two sets, 25-19 and 25-8.
The KHS volleyball team will be in action on Monday, Oct. 21, at Monmouth-Roseville High School.
