The Kewanee YMCA competitive teams, the Kraken Swim Team and the Flip Top Tumbling Team, turned in strong performances recently, with swimmers competing at their season‑ending state finals in Indiana and tumblers earning top placements at a meet in Rock Island.
Sixty percent of Kraken swimmers qualified for the state meet, while members of the tumbling team continued their push toward qualifying for nationals later this month.

Below are the tumbling team results from the competition held in Rock Island, Ill. The state meeting is set to take place the weekend of March 20. Competitors will seek to qualify for nationals which are being held in Sevierville Tennessee this summer. The team has four participants who have reached the qualifying levels: Chayse Sturtevant, Abby Hampton, Valerie Weber and Gracelyn Finney.
