The Kewanee Public Library District is excited to announce the return of the Science Book Club.
“Thanks to our amazing Friends of the Library group, this year’s participants will receive a free copy of each book,” said Kit Layman, information services manager for the library.
The 2024 Science Book Club will kick off on Wednesday, March 27, at 6 p.m. Retired Black Hawk College instructor Alan Abbott will be on hand to lead the discussion on The Big Ones: How Natural Disasters Have Shaped Us (and What We Can Do About Them) by Dr. Lucy Jones.
Isaac Stewart, of Black Hawk College, will facilitate the discussion of Ed Yong’s An Immense World at 6 p.m. on April 24, and Alan Abbott will return to lead the talk surrounding Philip Plait’s Under Alien Skies at 6 p.m. on May 29.
You can attend each discussion or just those that are of interest to you. Those residents planning to participate are asked to stop in at the library to register and pick up a copy of the book(s) today.
