Kewanee police blotter for May 7-8

May 7:

Police issued a written warning following a traffic stop at Main and Prospect streets.

A written warning was given following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Tenney Street.

A disturbance was reported in the 400 block of South Elm Street.

Police assisted other agencies in the 900 block of Simpson Avenue.

An animal/dog at large was reported in the 600 block of North Adams Street.

A domestic disturbance was reported in the 200 block of Community Square.

Police responded to a fire call at Third and May streets.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Community Square.

A written warning was issued to a motorist following a traffic stop at College Street and East Street South.

Jared W. Vermost, 33, Kewanee, was arrested for criminal damage to state-supported property after police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Community Square. He was issued a notice to appear.

Robert F. Barnes, 37, Kewanee, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear in court on possession of methamphetamine and driving with a revoked license. There was no bond and he was taken to the Henry County Jail.

Police issued a written warning following a traffic stop in the 400 block of Page Street.

A written warning was issued to a motorist following a traffic stop at Page Street and the railroad tracks.

Disturbance, neighborhood trouble was reported in the 300 block of West Division Street.

A downed tree was reported in the 100 block of North Chestnut Street.

Property damage was reported in the 300 block of Wilsey Court.

Battery was reported in the 600 block of East Church Street.

Leonardo H. Lozano, 43, Kewanee, was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle following a traffic stop at Second Street and Stanton Court. He was given a notice to appear.

Jose Ramos Aviles, 50, Kewanee, was cited for no seat belt following a traffic stop at McClure and Tenney streets. He was given a notice to appear.

Police were called to remove an unwanted subject in the 500 block of North East Street.

A written warning was issued following a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Third Street.

A written warning was issued following a traffic top in the 200 block of Tenney Street.

Police issued a written warning to a motorist following a traffic stop at First and Main streets.

A written warning was given to a motorist following a traffic stop at Church and Tenney streets.

A written warning was issued following a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Central Boulevard.

A written warning was issued at Church and East Street South.

A written warning was issued to a driver following a traffic stop at Eighth and Elm streets.

May 8:

A suspicious person was reported in the 100 block of West South Street.

A suspicious person was reported on the S curve.

Matthew C. Derr, 31, Kewanee, was arrested on a charge of child pornography. He was released with a notice to appear in court.

A domestic disturbance was reported in the 100 block of North Boss Street.

Illegal burning was reported in the 600 block of East Church Street.

A vehicle owned by Jason and Kimberly Curier, Kewanee, was struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene in the 100 block of South Main Street.

An animal was impounded from the 1200 block of East Third Street.

A 16-year-old male was arrested for domestic battery following a disturbance in the 300 block of South West Street. He was issued a juvenile referral.

An accident involving a 16-year-old male and Sadie J. Lloyd, 25, Annawan, was reported in the 100 block of West Prospect Street. There were no injuries. The 16-year-old was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

An accident involving a deer was reported in the 800 block of East Division Street.

A hit and run accident was reported in the 800 block of Pine Street. A vehicle operated by an unknown driver struck a shed and left the scene. There were no injuries.

A vehicle operated by Bruce L. Ward, 79, Kewanee, struck a building in the 100 block of South Tremont Street. There were no injuries reported or citations issued.

Disorderly conduct/telephone harassment was reported in the 600 block of West Central Boulevard.

Jacob A. Metscaviz, 43, Kewanee, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear on charges of forgery x7, meth delivery, possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance x3, delivery of fentanyl, driving while license is suspended x2, expired registration and possession of meth. He was taken to Henry County Jail.

Police issued a written warning to a driver at Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue.

A disturbance, fights, riots, brawls, was reported in the 200 block of North East Street.
