Seniors Addison Dykstra and Joshua Ogorzalek have been selected as February “Teens of the Month” by the Kewanee Elks #724.
A student at Geneseo High School, Dykstra is the daughter of Curt and Sara Dystra. With a GPA of 4.2/4.0 scale, her class rank is top 10%. She has four-year achievements in High Honor Roll, tennis, softball, chorus, swing choir and jazz band, and three-year achievements in Key Club and Gray Matters Collective. Her two-year achievements include National Honor Society, Gold Member society, band, line crew and student council. Her one-year achievements are as an Illinois State Scholar All-Conference Academic in tennis and softball, along with Student Council treasurer, Key Club social media, concert band and honors band.
Her community service includes volunteering in coaching, community and religious volunteer work.
Ogorzalek is the son of Jason Shambaugh and Stephanie Spears. A senior at Kewanee High School, his class rank is 12 of 128 with a GPA of 3.97/4.0. He has four-year achievements in High Honor Roll and FFA. His three-year achievement is in Art Club, and two-year achievements include National Honor Society and Competitive Arts. His one-year achievements include Illinois State Scholar, Arts Club Council and Gray Matters.
His community service work centers on volunteering for Goodfellows.
