
Dr. Dennis Gerleman with the Kewanee Elks #724 recently presented Kewanee Food Pantry board member Sandy Hill with a check for $500.
The Kewanee Food Pantry, a private nonprofit organization, collects, stores and redistributes surplus food and assists in feeding over 1,100 Kewanee families. The organization has been serving the community since the 1980s.
The Kewanee Elks lodge was instituted in 1901 and partners with organizations such as the Food Pantry, Salvation Army, YMCA, Freedom House, Project Graduation and Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center. The Elk’s mission is to invest in communities with the focus on improving the lives of both children and veterans.
