Winter is making a dramatic comeback with a hazardous icy wintry mix expected on Wednesday. Sleet, freezing rain and drizzle could create slick conditions and act as a reminder that winter is far from over.
According to the National Weather Service, Kewanee and the surrounding area is under a winter weather advisory.
Starting around 3 p.m., the mainly cloudy skies could give way to a mix of wintry precipitation. Temperatures will remain steady in the low to mid 30s.
By evening, precipitation chances increase to 50 percent and forecasters call for periods of light freezing rain up until midnight.
Ice accumulation is expected to be minimal at just 1/10 of an inch.
