The Covered Bridge Quilters Guild will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, June 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the New Hope Church of the Nazarene, 30 N. Sixth St. in Princeton.
This month’s program will feature Liz Kegebein, a local artist from Kewanee. Kegebein will provide a program on Barn Quilt Painting, where attendees will learn the history behind these iconic symbols of rural Americana. Tips and information will be provided so that attendees can create their own painted masterpiece at
home.
Barn quilts, rooted in early American quilting traditions, first appeared on barns to honor heritage, brighten rural landscapes and showcase artistic pride. Today, these vibrant wooded squares continue to tell stories across the countryside.

In addition to their monthly meeting, the Guild will also have an open sew day at the church starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Members are asked to bring their projects, machine, hand work, or whatever they would like to work on and join them.
Guests are encouraged and always welcome at guild meetings. There is a $5.00 guest fee which can be applied to the guild membership fee if someone joins the night of the meeting. The Covered Bridge Quilters guild is always looking for new members and anyone interested in joining the guild may do so.
