“Jazz on the Side,” a group of local musicians interested in playing traditional jazz pieces, is planning a series of three summer performances.
The group, led by Kewanee High School band director Alex Binkek, will play on Thursday, June 29, in Veterans Park, as part of the Concerts in the Park series.
A downtown Kewanee performance on Saturday, July 22, will take place during the Prairie Chicken Arts Festival. And the group will play on Sunday, Sept. 3, during Hog Days.
Local musicians wishing to take part in the band can attend the first practice session on Monday, June 5, at 7:15 p.m. in the band room at Kewanee High School.
