Hog Day’s weekend ended with a day centered around kids. The annual tradition is a more relaxed setting with kid-friendly activities, giving kids a chance to enjoy festivities just for them, to finish off their long weekend.

Despite the sweltering heat throughout the weekend, the weather actually made a turn for the better Monday, making it a perfect day to bring out little ones. Blue skies and a slight breeze made it a good day to be out and about all day.

The Kewanee Police and Fire departments made an appearance again this year, teaching kids about safety in a fun fashion, and still just having plain fun by letting the kids dunk them in the dunk tank.

Adding to the fun of Kid’s Day were two new attractions. A vibrant bouncy castle gave kids a classic fair experience, while the bucking pig ride brought a unique attraction to Kewanee in honor of Hog Days.

Many other kid-centered activities and booths were there, such as face painting, caricature drawings, the tractor pull and much more.
