Lady Geese get triple-header win in volleyball

Wethersfield’s volleyball team won a triple header from Sterling Newman Monday.

The Lady Geese varsity defeated Newman 25-17, 25-15.

The sophomores won 25-20, 25-1, and the freshmen won 25-1, 25-12.

KHS improves to 2-1 in volleyball

Kewanee volleyball improved to 2-1 as they topped Hall 25-23, 25-21.

Stats for Kewanee:

– Damaris Diaz: 8 kills, 2 blocks, 2 digs, 3 service points

– Macee Pickering: 7 kills, 11 assists, 3 digs, 1 ace, 2 service points

– Tejhiana Amos: 4 kills, 1 dig

– Kendyl DeBlieck: 11 assists, 2 kills, 5 digs, 2 service points

– Claire Taylor: 6 digs, 1 ace, 6 service points

– Taylor VanWinkle: 2 kills, 4 digs, 6 service points

Kewanee sophomores won 25-9, 25-18, and the freshmen won 19-25, 25-20, 15-9.

Kewanee’s Jack Anderson wins medalist honors

Kewanee High School boys golfers finished second in triangular meet at Baker Park Tuesday.

Ridgewood won the match with a team score of 171. Kewanee had 189 strokes and Monmouth-Roseville finished with 196.

For Kewanee, Jack Anderson was the medalist of the match with a score of 41. Other scorers for the Boilers were Dalton Bender 48, Reid Nichols 49 and Landon Sheets and Owen Laue, who each shot 50.
