Health Department wears red to show support of heart health awareness

By The Kewanee Voice    February 11, 2025

Henry and Stark County Health Department clients and patients were welcomed by staff members wearing red attire on Friday. The staff participated in National Wear Red Day on Feb. 7.

The health designation is a special day during February – American Heart Month – that focuses attention and awareness of women’s heart health. Heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women in the US.

The Health Department and First Choice Healthcare remind area residents that their family nurse practitioners in Kewanee, Colona and Toulon can help with the management of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. If you don’t know your blood pressure and cholesterol numbers; they have services that can help you see where you stand.

For more information on heart-friendly programs and services call the First Choice Healthcare clinic nearest you: Kewanee 309-852-5272; Colona 309-792-4011; and Toulon 309-852-3115.
